    Vertical SaaS

SaaS built specifically for a single industry or niche, offering deep workflows tailored to that sector's unique needs.

Vertical SaaS targets a specific industry — construction, veterinary clinics, commercial real estate, legal practices — and builds every feature around the specific workflows, terminology, regulations, and integrations of that vertical. By going deep where horizontal tools stay broad, vertical SaaS commands higher prices, achieves better retention, and builds stronger network effects within the target community. Customers in vertical SaaS often feel the product was built specifically for them, which dramatically reduces selling friction. The challenge is market size — a vertical SaaS for nail salons has a finite addressable market. Smart vertical SaaS companies either identify verticals large enough to sustain a significant business, or they use dominance in one vertical as a beachhead to expand into adjacent ones.
